Open-source cybersecurity leader Sonatype has inaugurated its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, establishing it as the company’s largest R&D hub worldwide. The new centre will house over 200 deep-tech engineers, product leaders, data scientists, and AI experts dedicated to advancing AI and ML-driven software security, cloud-native development, and open-source intelligence solutions.
The GCC was officially inaugurated by Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary (IT and Industry, Government of Telangana), who commended Hyderabad’s rise as a global technology hub. “With its strong talent base, culture of innovation, and business-friendly policies, Hyderabad continues to attract the world’s top technology firms,” he said at the event.
Sonatype’s new Hyderabad centre underscores India’s growing importance in global technology and cybersecurity innovation. As the city gears up to cross the 500 GCC milestone next year, the facility is expected to play a pivotal role in creating high-value tech jobs and accelerating research in secure software development and open-source ecosystems.
