Bajaj Auto has appointed Shakti Upadhyay as its new Vice President – Brands, where he will lead the Sports Motorcycle category, including iconic models like Pulsar and Dominar. Upadhyay brings extensive expertise in brand marketing, strategy, and communications, having built successful campaigns across the automotive sector.
Prior to joining Bajaj Auto, he spent seven years at Kia India, serving as Head of Marketing and PR. As part of Kia’s founding leadership team, he was instrumental in shaping the brand’s market positioning and spearheaded launch campaigns for models including Seltos, Sonet, Carnival, Carens, and the EV6. He was elevated in 2023 to oversee end-to-end brand communications, spanning advertising, digital outreach, PR, and consumer research.
Upadhyay’s prior experience also includes leadership roles at Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor India, where he managed marketing communications and promotional campaigns for key models such as i10, Santro, Verna, and Sonata. At Bajaj Auto, he aims to deepen brand love, drive global ambition, and celebrate the spirit of riders worldwide.
