An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, Shailesh began his journey with P&G in India in 1989 as an ASSISTANT BRAND MANAGER. Over the decades, he took on leadership responsibilities across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America, building extensive experience in global business management and strategic leadership.
In 2021, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, positioning him for the company’s top executive role. He assumed the position of CEO in January 2026, becoming the first India-born leader to head P&G in its 188-year history.
Today, Shailesh leads a global organisation whose portfolio of consumer products reaches nearly five billion people across more than 180 countries. His journey from an entry-level management role in India to the helm of a multinational corporation reflects decades of leadership, global exposure and professional growth.
