Reem Hospital has appointed Nayeem Akhtar as Director of Information Technology, effective September 2026. In his new role, Nayeem will focus on technology, cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives to support patient care, operational excellence and organisational growth.
Nayeem brings more than 25 years of experience across healthcare technology, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation and technology integration. Before joining Reem Hospital, he served as IT Director in the healthcare sector, where he focused on regulatory compliance, enterprise IT governance and technology operations.
Earlier, Nayeem served as Head of IT and AI Barsha/Senior Manager, Cybersecurity, and previously held the position of Director, ICT at Neuro Spinal Hospital in the UAE. He also served as Group Head of IT at Novo Healthcare and IT Director at Alpen Capital, managing technology operations, infrastructure and cybersecurity across multiple locations.
His expertise spans healthcare technology integration, information security, enterprise IT strategy and digital transformation, supported by certifications including CISSP, PMP, ITIL and CEH.
