From space science to healthcare innovation, Abhishek Chakrala’s journey is a story of vision and purpose. A former ISRO scientist hailing from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, Abhishek has transformed his global experience into a mission to revolutionize healthcare data systems through blockchain technology.
Founded in 2025, his startup PranaChain; based in India and Canada, offers a next-generation decentralized healthcare platform that enables secure, transparent, and consent-driven exchange of medical data. It connects patients, hospitals, labs, insurers, and researchers through a Web3-based medical ERP, giving patients full control over their health records while ensuring data privacy and interoperability.
The idea took shape during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Abhishek observed gaps in healthcare accessibility and data sharing. In 2023, he bootstrapped ₹22 lakh to develop PranaChain with a small team of developers across India.
Adding another innovation, PranaChain introduces its native crypto token, PranaToken, designed to simplify cross-border healthcare payments and enhance financial accessibility for global travelers.
Currently in its beta phase, PranaChain has partnered with a Canadian startup incubator and a Dubai semi-government accelerator to expand its global footprint.
