Paytm has unveiled AI Soundbox, India’s first AI-powered device designed to serve as a smart business assistant for small and medium businesses (SMBs). Unlike the earlier Soundbox, which only notified merchants of payments, the new device provides real-time insights, business summaries, and actionable recommendations, helping merchants make informed decisions without spending hours on spreadsheets.

The AI assistant supports 11 local languages, in addition to English, allowing merchants to ask questions about sales, collections, and overall performance. It responds instantly, delivering summaries, insights, and strategic advice to optimize business operations.

The device supports dynamic QR codes, tap, and insert card payments, ensuring smooth transactions. Merchants can track collections via voice commands or touchscreen, with a top display showing instant payment updates. The Android-based AI Soundbox combines advanced software with a user-friendly design, including a dedicated Paytm Button for quick access to assistance and notifications. It works seamlessly with WiFi and 4G connectivity, making it ideal for restaurants, retail stores, and outdoor markets.

Speaking at the launch, Paytm Founder & CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma said, “We are now entering the intelligence age with multiple AI-first products.” Following the announcement, Paytm shares rose around 2.5% on October 7, reflecting strong investor confidence.
