OpenAI signs four strategic agreements to advance UAE’s AI-native government vision
OpenAI has signed four strategic agreements with Abu Dhabi-based entities across government, energy and investment, supporting the UAE capital’s ambition to become the world’s first fully AI-native government.
The agreements followed a meeting between OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who witnessed the signings.
Under the partnership, ADNOC, G42’s Inception42 and OpenAI will enable ADNOC to become the first energy company to deploy OpenAI’s frontier technology, powered by ChatGPT models and in-country AI infrastructure.
Abu Dhabi Government and OpenAI have also launched the Machine-Readable Government initiative, enabling AI systems to interpret policies and assist officials with routine compliance assessments, including permits and certificates. The first pilot is underway at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, focusing on food imports.
Separately, Mubadala and Inception42 partnered with OpenAI on investment analysis and risk assessment, while Inception42 signed a five-year agreement to accelerate AI adoption across government, enterprises and education.
