OpenAI Appoints Former Slack CEO Denise Holland Dresser as Chief Revenue Officer Leadership

OpenAI has appointed Denise Holland Dresser, former CEO of Slack, as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), a strategic move aimed at accelerating the company’s enterprise growth and long-term profitability. First reported by Wired and later confirmed by OpenAI, the hire brings a seasoned leader with more than 14 years of experience at Salesforce, where she played a pivotal role in scaling Slack and launching its key AI-driven features.

In her new role, Dresser will lead OpenAI’s global revenue strategy, enterprise expansion, and customer success operations. Her appointment comes at a crucial time as OpenAI focuses on transforming its widely adopted AI tools into sustainable, enterprise-ready products.

OpenAI’s CEO of Applications, Fidji Simo, welcomed the move, stating, “We’re on a path to put AI tools into the hands of millions of workers across every industry.” She added that Dresser’s deep experience will enhance OpenAI’s ability to deliver AI solutions that are both useful and reliable for businesses. Meanwhile, Slack’s Chief Product Officer, Rob Seaman, will step in as interim CEO.
