NTT DATA has announced plans to hire 5,000 additional employees in India this year across software programming, consulting, and IT support functions, significantly strengthening its delivery and innovation capabilities. The company currently employs approximately 40,000 professionals in the country, underscoring India’s strategic importance in its global operating model.
Sudhir Chaturvedi, Chief Growth Officer and CEO – North America at NTT DATA, indicated that large IT contracts exceeding $100 million have doubled over the past year. He highlighted renewed momentum in North America, projecting robust growth in the upcoming financial year as enterprises accelerate digital transformation and cloud modernization initiatives.
A subsidiary of NTT Group, the company is also investing $1.5 billion to build four new data centers in India. With India hosting nearly 20% of global data but accounting for less than 6% of worldwide data center capacity, the expansion aligns with rising digital infrastructure demand and AI-driven workloads.
