Krishna Kumar Thakur has been appointed as Director (Personnel) at NMDC Limited, taking charge of the organization’s human resources and workforce strategy. In this role, he will drive people-centric initiatives, strengthen industrial relations, and enhance organizational capability as NMDC continues to expand its leadership in India’s mining sector.

Krishna brings extensive public-sector experience, having most recently served as Director (HR) at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), where he led key policy reforms, organizational restructuring, and incentive framework standardization. His career also includes senior leadership roles in Indian Railways, where he served as Chief Personnel Officer (Admin) and Chairman of the Railway Recruitment Cell, contributing to large-scale HR operations and administrative excellence.

A 1998-batch IRPS officer, Krishna holds an Executive MBA in Human Resources from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). His deep expertise in HR governance and transformation positions him to strengthen NMDC’s workforce strategy.
