Infosys, in collaboration with Siruthuli, has successfully rejuvenated Thangal Lake in Sholinganallur, Chennai, significantly enhancing its water storage capacity from approximately 150 million litres to nearly 300 million litres. Supported through a CSR grant of over ₹5 crore, the initiative reflects a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, water conservation, and community development.

The restoration project included extensive deweeding, desilting, bund strengthening, sewage diversion, and the creation of floating wetlands and bird habitats. These measures are expected to improve water quality, strengthen flood resilience, enhance groundwater recharge, and support local biodiversity.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by MLA ECR P. Saravanan, Greater Chennai Corporation Regional Deputy Commissioner Aftab Rasool, and senior Infosys leaders Anil Kumar P N and Niladri Prasad Mishra.
