Chettinad Group has appointed Deepak Somasundaram as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), strengthening its people leadership as the diversified group advances its organisational transformation and people strategy.
In his new role, Deepak will lead business-facing HR, organisational transformation and people strategy across the Group. He joins Chettinad Group from Dalmia Bharat Group, where he held senior HR leadership responsibilities, including serving as Senior General Manager.
During his tenure at Dalmia Bharat, Somasundaram worked across strategic and business-facing HR functions within the cement and building materials sector. Earlier, he served as Deputy Manager - Corporate HR at Aircel Cellular Limited, gaining corporate HR experience across Chennai and Gurugram.
With experience spanning manufacturing, telecom, cement, building materials and power, Somasundaram brings expertise in people strategy, organisational transformation and business-aligned HR.
He holds an MBA in Human Resources from PSG Institute of Management.
