CapitaLand Investment (CLI) has announced CapitaLand Data Centre Chennai 01, a 53 MW gross power capacity facility in Ambattur, marking its entry into Tamil Nadu’s data centre market through its listed fund platform, CapitaLand India Trust (CLINT).
Announced on October 15 by Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The facility will offer 34 MW of IT power capacity across 13 data halls, supported by a dedicated 110 kV substation. Designed for high-density computing, liquid-cooled deployments and carrier-neutral connectivity, it will cater to evolving enterprise and hyperscale infrastructure requirements.
The development follows CLINT’s 108 MW data centre in Navi Mumbai, completed in 2025 and fully leased to a global hyperscaler.
CLINT CEO Gauri Shankar Nagabhushanam said the project reflects confidence in India’s long-term data centre growth. CLI has invested over S$6,000 million across seven operational assets in Tamil Nadu over 22 years, while its India funds under management exceeded S$8 billion as of June 30.
