Amwoodo, a sustainability-focused startup, has secured $4 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter, with participation from Adventz Group, Thinkuvate, and Caspian. Founded in 2019, Amwoodo is on a mission to replace single-use plastics with bamboo-first products that combine eco-consciousness with daily convenience.
The company has already forged strong B2B partnerships with brands like Himalaya Wellness Company, Bombay Shaving Company, and ITC Hotels, while also expanding into the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) space through its sustainability marketplace Ecoconscious.
With this fresh funding, Amwoodo plans to scale production capacity, strengthen its D2C presence, and introduce new plastic-alternative brands under the House of Amwoodo. Beyond business growth, the startup is also committed to community development, focusing on creating livelihood opportunities in bamboo-growing regions across India.
Agni Mitra, Founder & CEO, emphasized that the vision goes beyond scaling a business: “It is about fueling a movement where innovation replaces waste, communities thrive, and every product leaves the planet better than we found it.”
Positioning itself at the intersection of profit and purpose, Amwoodo aims to make eco-conscious living the global standard, redefining sustainability for businesses and consumers alike.
