Unilever Appoints Srinivas Phatak as Chief Financial Officer to Strengthen Global Leadership Leadership


Unilever has officially appointed Srinivas Phatak as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), following his successful tenure as acting CFO since February after Fernando Fernandez was promoted to CEO. The appointment underscores Unilever’s confidence in its internal leadership pipeline and its focus on stability amid recent management transitions.

Phatak, who has been with Unilever for over 25 years, brings extensive experience across business and corporate finance. Prior to his elevation, he served as Deputy CFO and Controller, overseeing performance and stewardship for the Group. Between 2017 and mid-2021, he was CFO of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and VP Finance for South Asia, playing a crucial role in strengthening Unilever’s financial operations in one of its most important markets.

A qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant from India, Phatak’s deep financial expertise and proven leadership are expected to reinforce Unilever’s resilience as it navigates growing global competition in the FMCG sector. His appointment was unanimously endorsed by the company’s board, citing his strong performance as interim CFO.
