Vikas Gupta, CFA, a seasoned financial services leader with nearly three decades of experience across risk, compliance, and technology, has taken on an expanded role at Barclays. Alongside his current position as Managing Director – Head of India Compliance, he now serves as Global Head of Employee Compliance.

Based in Pune, Vikas is responsible for driving financial crime prevention, compliance strategy, and employee compliance frameworks at a global level. His career journey reflects an exceptional track record in leading governance, risk, and compliance functions across top institutions including Wells Fargo, Credit Suisse, Royal Bank of Scotland, Coforge, and Bank of America.

At Barclays, he plays a pivotal role in strengthening risk oversight and compliance culture across regions. Previously, he served as Chief Compliance Officer for Credit Suisse India, managing compliance for over 14,000 employees, and as Chief Risk Officer for Wells Fargo India & Philippines, where he oversaw risk programs across business groups.

His leadership has consistently delivered on regulatory excellence, innovation in compliance processes, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
