Ubitium Raises €14 Million Seed Funding to Develop Unified Processor for Physical AI Deeptech

Founded in 2024, Ubitium is developing a unified processor designed to combine perception, AI processing and real-time control on a single chip. Its reconfigurable architecture aims to consolidate functions traditionally handled by separate digital signal processors (DSPs), neural processing units (NPUs) and central processing units (CPUs), reducing hardware complexity, power consumption and data-transfer bottlenecks.

The company has already demonstrated its initial silicon, the UB108, built on Samsung’s 8nm process and featuring 256 processing elements. The fresh capital will support development of its next-generation UB410 commercial processor, which features 4,096 processing elements, with evaluation units expected to reach customers in 2027.

The Bigger Picture

The funding reflects growing investor interest in Physical AI, where autonomous machines such as drones and robots require efficient onboard computing to process sensor data, make decisions and execute tasks without relying on continuous cloud connectivity.

CXO TechBOT Perspective

Ubitium’s funding highlights the emerging opportunity in specialised semiconductor architectures for edge AI. By consolidating perception, intelligence and control into a unified processor, the startup aims to address the power, weight and integration constraints facing autonomous systems and industrial applications.
