Shankar Sharan has taken on a new leadership role as Managing Director of ONGC Petrochemicals Marketing Limited (OPML), bringing extensive experience in the oil and energy industry to the position. Based in Mumbai, he will lead the organisation’s petrochemicals marketing operations.
Before this appointment, Shankar served as Group General Manager at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). Earlier, he held the position of Chief General Manager (Projects), Head of Downstream, contributing to the organisation’s downstream operations.
With a long-standing career at ONGC, his professional expertise spans marketing management, oil and gas production, petroleum business and field development activities. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director at ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited as an ONGC nominee.
Shankar completed the Senior Management Program at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, strengthening his management and leadership capabilities.
