Olectra Greentech Limited has appointed Mahesh Babu as its Managing Director, strengthening the company’s leadership in India’s electric vehicle (EV) sector. Mahesh brings over 30 years of experience in automotive and sustainable mobility, having held key leadership positions including Global CEO at Switch Mobility, Managing Director & CEO at Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, and senior roles at Mahindra & Mahindra Limited and Ashok Leyland.

Throughout his career, Mahesh has been instrumental in launching disruptive technologies, driving large-scale growth, and advancing clean energy mobility solutions across domestic and international markets.

Beyond corporate leadership, he has significantly contributed to shaping India’s sustainable mobility policies. He has served as Chairman of the EMG Group at SIAM, Co-Chair at CII’s National Committee on Future Mobility & Battery Storage, and Co-Chair at FICCI’s Core Group on Sustainable Mobility.

Armed with degrees from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and Carnegie Mellon University – Tepper School of Business, Mahesh is poised to lead Olectra Greentech in scaling innovative EV solutions and reinforcing its position in India’s growing electric mobility ecosystem.
