Emergent Secures $23M Series A to Simplify App Development for Non-Technical Users Startup Stories

Emergent, founded by twin brothers Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha, is redefining app creation for non-technical users, much like Instagram and YouTube transformed content creation. The platform allows users to build apps through simple prompts, while seamlessly managing APIs, backend integration, and deployment in the background.

On Wednesday, Emergent announced a $23 million Series A funding round led by Lightspeed, with participation from Y Combinator, Together Fund, and prominent angel investors including Balaji Srinivasan, Google’s Jeff Dean, and Devendra Chaplot of Mistral. With this latest round, Emergent has raised $30 million to date.

Mukund, former CTO at Dunzo, and Madhav, previously at Dropbox, observed the rapid evolution of AI-powered coding in 2023 and identified a growing need for agent-driven app development. “We believe agent-based app creation will become a key part of the economy over the next 20 years,” Mukund shared.

By combining deep technical expertise with an intuitive, user-friendly interface, Emergent is positioning itself as the go-to platform for anyone looking to create apps without the complexities of traditional software engineering, making AI-driven app development accessible to a broader audience.
