Axis Bank has appointed Nikhil Shimpi as Senior Vice President & Head – Life Insurance and Credit Life, within its Third Party Products (TPP) team. Based in Mumbai, he will focus on scaling the bank’s life insurance and credit life business, driving innovation and expanding customer-focused protection solutions.
Nikhil joins Axis Bank from Tata AIA Life Insurance, where he served as Senior Vice President & Head – TATA Ecosystem. He led initiatives across life, health and wealth insurance solutions for employees, customers, vendors, dealers and alliance partners.
Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at Future Generali India Life Insurance and Standard Chartered Bank, where he led bancassurance, insurance products, wealth propositions, partnership management and distribution.
Nikhil began his insurance career with Bharti AXA Life Insurance, where he held leadership positions across credit life, group insurance and alternate channel sales. He has also held roles at Tata AIG Life Insurance, Siemens and Taj Group of Hotels.
His extensive experience across insurance, bancassurance, partnerships and P&L management is expected to support Axis Bank’s growth in protection and third-party products.
