Anthropic has announced that its Claude models, including Claude Opus 5, Sonnet 5 and Haiku 4.5, are now available with in-country inference in India through Amazon Bedrock, enabling requests to be processed within the country.
According to Amazon Web Services (AWS), the India endpoint uses geographic cross-Region inference across its Mumbai and Hyderabad regions, allowing Amazon Bedrock to use capacity across India while keeping inference within the country.
The offering includes audit trails and access controls designed to support risk and compliance teams, making it relevant for financial institutions, government organisations and large enterprises with data-handling requirements.
Anthropic said Reliance Industries Limited, CRED and other customers tested the capability during a private preview. Anthropic India Managing Director Irina Ghose said the availability will help regulated sectors and government organisations use Claude for critical workloads while keeping requests processed domestically.
