Anant Badjatya Appointed as Group CEO of SPIRO to Accelerate Africa’s Electric Mobility Revolution Leadership

SPIRO, Africa’s leading electric mobility company, has appointed Anant Badjatya as its new Group Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant step in the company’s ambitious growth journey. With over two decades of leadership experience across India, the Middle East, and Africa, Anant brings deep expertise in scaling businesses within the electric mobility and energy sectors.

Prior to joining SPIRO, he served as CEO of Indofast Energy, the joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation and SUN Mobility, where he successfully led the expansion of one of India’s largest battery-swapping networks, operating more than 1,800 stations and supporting around 90,000 vehicles daily.

His appointment follows SPIRO’s landmark US$215 million financing round, one of the largest investments in Africa’s EV sector. As Group CEO, Anant will drive strategic growth across battery swapping, leasing, logistics, energy solutions, and vehicle manufacturing. With over 100,000 electric motorcycles on African roads and more than 30 million battery swaps completed, SPIRO continues to shape the future of sustainable transportation across emerging markets.
