Anthropic, the global AI safety and research company, has appointed Irina Ghose as Managing Director, India, marking a strategic leadership move as the company strengthens its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing artificial intelligence markets. In her new role, Ghose will lead Anthropic’s India strategy, with a focus on advancing responsible AI adoption, expanding ecosystem partnerships, and driving enterprise engagement across industries.
The appointment reflects Anthropic’s commitment to combining cutting-edge AI innovation with strong market leadership and governance, as India emerges as a key hub for AI development, talent, and deployment. Ghose will play a pivotal role in deepening collaborations with enterprises, developers, policymakers, and research institutions to scale ethical and high-impact AI solutions.
Prior to joining Anthropic, Irina Ghose served as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, India at Microsoft, where she led large-scale digital transformation initiatives spanning cloud, artificial intelligence, enterprise platforms, and partner ecosystems. Over her tenure at Microsoft, she held several senior leadership roles, including Executive Director – Cloud Solutions, Country Head – Azure Sales, and Director & Country Head – Education, working closely with enterprises, governments, and institutions.
Beyond corporate leadership, Ghose is the Founder of MyLittleBit, a philanthropic foundation focused on education, digital literacy, and empowerment for underprivileged girls. She also serves as a Trustee at SonderConnect, supporting women founders globally, reinforcing her long-standing commitment to inclusive growth alongside technology leadership.
Her appointment positions Anthropic to play a stronger role in shaping India’s responsible AI landscape at scale.
