Visa Expands AI Developer Ecosystem with New Agentic Commerce Tools AI

Visa is strengthening its AI-driven commerce ecosystem with the launch of two new tools, the Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server and the Visa Acceptance Agent Toolkit. Designed to accelerate adoption of agentic commerce, these innovations aim to make AI-powered payment experiences more accessible for both developers and non-developers.

The MCP Server allows AI agents to connect directly with Visa’s Intelligent Commerce APIs, offering a secure integration layer that shortens development cycles from weeks to just hours. By enabling agents to dynamically interpret user requests and apply Visa APIs in new contexts, the solution opens the door to next-generation commerce experiences. Visa confirmed that this capability will soon extend across its full API portfolio.

Complementing this, the Visa Acceptance Agent Toolkit empowers non-developers to use no-code, plain-language commands for online commerce actions. Currently in pilot, the toolkit enables simple instructions such as creating invoices or generating secure payment links, eliminating the need for extensive coding expertise.

These advancements build on Visa’s Intelligent Commerce platform, introduced in April, which laid the foundation for trusted agentic AI experiences across its global payments network. With these tools, Visa is equipping developers, merchants, and partners with the building blocks to create secure, AI-driven commerce applications at scale.
