Enterprise AI
Unilever has expanded its partnership with Accenture to accelerate the deployment of AI-enabled digital twins across its global manufacturing operations. The multi-year initiative aims to enhance product quality, improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen responsiveness to consumer demand through advanced industrial AI technologies.
Digital twins are virtual replicas of factory equipment and production lines that use real-time operational data to monitor, predict, and optimize manufacturing performance. By combining digital twins with AI-driven insights and agentic capabilities, Unilever is enabling manufacturing teams to identify issues earlier, simulate outcomes faster, and make smarter operational decisions.
Over the next 18 months, Unilever plans to develop more than 40 new digital twins, creating a scalable framework for global implementation. The technology has already delivered measurable results across manufacturing sites in the United States, India, Poland, and Vietnam, including reduced energy consumption, lower waste, improved product consistency, and increased production capacity.
The collaboration builds on Unilever’s broader AI transformation strategy and reinforces its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence across its global supply chain.
