In a significant board-level appointment, Novartis India has inducted Gowree Gokhale as an Independent Director, effective April 1, 2026. Approved by the board on March 26, the five-year term reinforces the company’s focus on strengthening governance, regulatory oversight, and strategic legal capabilities in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Gowree brings nearly three decades of distinguished experience in intellectual property, technology law, and regulatory advisory. Prior to this role, Gowree spent over 23 years at Nishith Desai Associates, where she led the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) and IP practices, advising on complex cross-border transactions, digital policy frameworks, and high-impact regulatory matters. Her expertise spans data privacy, life sciences law, and emerging technology regulations.

At Novartis India, Gowree will provide independent oversight on legal frameworks, intellectual property strategy, and compliance, supporting the company’s long-term growth and governance priorities.
