Ayurveda Wellness and nutrition brand Kapiva has unveiled a ₹50 crore innovation fund aimed at catalysing research and development in Ayurvedic science, reflecting a strategic push to strengthen evidence-based traditional medicine through scientific validation and commercial application.
Structured to support initiatives across the research spectrum, the Kapiva Innovation Fund will provide grants ranging from ₹50 lakh for early-stage academic work to ₹4–6 crore for mature projects, with additional support in mentorship, infrastructure and clinical resources. This multi-layered approach is designed to bridge the gap between traditional Ayurvedic knowledge and modern scientific standards, encouraging innovation in novel formulations, standardisation, phytochemistry, tech-enabled wellness models, and the application of artificial intelligence in Ayurvedic systems.
The fund is open to research institutions, PhD scholars, clinicians, hospitals, early-stage startups and incubators focused on Ayurvedic science, plant-based therapeutics and integrative health. Applicants will be evaluated on scientific rigour, feasibility, innovation potential and real-world impact.
Founded in 2015, Kapiva has grown into a prominent direct-to-consumer wellness brand with over 100 products spanning diabetes care, energy, liver and heart health and nutrition, supported by substantial growth and previous funding rounds.
The initiative reflects a broader intent to elevate Ayurvedic research from traditional practice to scientifically validated solutions, fostering a future-ready ecosystem for wellness innovation.
