Info Edge-Backed Coding Ninjas Sees Strong Financial Turnaround in FY25 Startup Stories

Gurugram-based edtech platform Coding Ninjas, backed by Info Edge, has reported a notable financial turnaround in FY25, posting a 26.4% year-on-year growth in operating revenue while significantly cutting losses. According to filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC), the company’s revenue from operations rose to ₹67 crore in FY25 from ₹53 crore in FY24.

Founded in 2016 by Ankush Singla, Kannu Mittal, and Dhawal Parate, Coding Ninjas specializes in online educational programs and coaching for engineering students. Its curriculum spans popular programming languages like C++, Java, and Python, alongside advanced skills including machine learning, web development, and data science. Revenue in FY25 came solely from its online coaching services, supported by strategic collaborations with leading institutions and universities to expand its course portfolio.

On the cost side, Coding Ninjas reduced total expenses by 9%, with employee benefits declining 18.5% to ₹44 crore, while advertisement and promotion expenses remained stable at ₹28 crore. These measures helped the company reduce losses by 41% to ₹30 crore from ₹51 crore in FY24, though accumulated losses reached ₹151.5 crore.

Financial analysis indicates potential liquidity concerns, as current liabilities exceeded current assets by ₹24.7 crore, despite cash and bank balances of ₹7.5 crore. Info Edge remains the sole external investor, having invested around ₹178 crore across three funding rounds and holding a 51% stake since October 2022. Coding Ninjas competes with platforms such as Scaler, Masai School, Newton School, Coding Blocks, GUVI, Udemy, and Coursera.
