Hyundai Motor Company India Ltd. has announced the appointment of Tarun Garg as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, marking a historic milestone as he becomes the company’s first-ever Indian to lead its operations. The Hyundai Motor Company Board of Directors approved the succession plan, confirming that current MD Unsoo Kim will return to South Korea to assume a strategic role at the parent organization effective December 31, 2025. Garg will officially take charge on January 1, 2026, signaling a new era of local leadership and market-driven innovation.

With over three decades of experience in the automotive sector, Garg has been with Hyundai Motor India for nearly six years, serving as Chief Operating Officer and earlier as Director – Sales, Marketing & Service. Prior to Hyundai, he spent 25 years at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, where he played a pivotal role in shaping sales, marketing, and customer engagement strategies.
