The campaign focuses on three pillars: Foundation, Talent and Frontier, supporting research infrastructure, scholarships, faculty recruitment, deep-tech research and entrepreneurship.
IIT Kanpur also signed an MoU with alumnus Rahul Gautam, who committed ₹180 crore to establish the Gautam School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at its Noida campus. The school plans to offer an MBA in Technology and Entrepreneurship from July 2027.
Planned investments include a ₹200 crore high-performance computing facility for AI research, a Central Research Facility, a Quantum Technology Centre, a semiconductor packaging centre and a medical devices prototyping facility.
The Frontier pillar has already attracted ₹1,556 crore in commitments, exceeding its original ₹1,000 crore target, strengthening the institute’s ambitions in advanced technology research.
