Manufacturing
Jaipur-based agritech startup Balwaan Krishi has raised ₹100 crore in a Series B funding round led by First Bridge India Growth Fund Private Equity, with participation from other institutional investors. The company will use the capital to expand domestic manufacturing, strengthen its dealer and after-sales service network in Southern India, and develop next-generation farm equipment.
Founded in 2016 by Rohit and Shubham Bajaj, Balwaan manufactures affordable agricultural machinery priced between ₹10,000 and ₹1 lakh. Its portfolio includes power weeders, battery sprayers and other equipment designed for Indian farming conditions. More than 4 lakh farmers use its products, supported by 800+ dealers across Northern India and e-commerce channels.
The Bigger Picture
A significant share of the funding will support local manufacturing, reducing dependence on imported machinery and components while improving supply and product availability. Balwaan also plans connected equipment with predictive maintenance and IoT capabilities.
The investment reflects growing technology and capital interest in affordable farm mechanisation, with domestic manufacturing, connected equipment and stronger distribution networks becoming important levers for scaling agritech adoption in India.
