Visionary Leader Kalpana Unadkat has been appointed Chairperson of Avenue Supermarts Ltd., the company that operates the widely recognized DMart supermarket chain. She will assume the role on April 1, succeeding Chandrashekhar Bhave. The leadership transition was confirmed by the company on March 14, 2026, marking an important governance development for the retail major.

A seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer, Unadkat brings extensive expertise in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance, particularly in India-focused global transactions.

During her distinguished career, she has held senior advisory and leadership roles at prominent law firms including Ashurst, where she served as Senior Partner and Co-head of the India Practice, as well as Khaitan & Co.

She also contributes to corporate governance as an Independent Director at organizations such as TVS Motor Company, ERIS Lifesciences, and TVS Credit Services Ltd.
