Amazon Launches AI Chatbot Rufus in India for Enhanced Shopping Experience

Amazon has launched Rufus, an AI-powered shopping assistant, in its mobile app for Indian users, aiming to improve customer interaction and support. Trained on Amazon’s extensive product catalog, Rufus assists with shopping queries, product recommendations, and detailed comparisons. Customized specifically for Indian customers, the chatbot highlights differences between selected products, offering tailored suggestions to enhance the shopping experience.

 

Currently in beta, Rufus is accessible to a select group of users on the Amazon app, indicated by a chatbot icon at the bottom right of the screen. Customers can engage with Rufus by tapping the icon, choosing suggested queries, or entering their own questions. The chatbot is designed to handle follow-up questions, maintaining a conversational tone throughout the interaction.

 

A broaer rollout across India is expected in the coming weeks, following its initial launch in the United States.
