Amazon One Medical has introduced an agentic Health AI assistant designed to make healthcare more personalized, proactive, and actionable for members. Available 24/7 within the One Medical app, the AI-powered assistant helps users understand their health, manage routine care tasks, and seamlessly connect with clinicians when needed.

Unlike generic health chatbots, Health AI is grounded in each member’s complete medical history, including lab results, medications, vaccinations, and prior conditions all protected by HIPAA-compliant privacy and security safeguards. This contextual understanding allows the assistant to deliver tailored health guidance, explain lab reports in plain language, and recommend the most appropriate care options, whether that’s virtual care, in-person visits, or urgent care.

Health AI can also take action on behalf of members by booking same- or next-day appointments, renewing prescriptions, and supporting medication management through Amazon Pharmacy. Importantly, the assistant is built to complement, not replace the patient-clinician relationship. Embedded clinical protocols and safety guardrails ensure timely escalation to human providers for complex, sensitive, or emergency situations.
