Startup Stories
Peak XV Partners is reportedly considering an investment of ₹180-200 crore, while the startup could reach a post-money valuation of approximately ₹2,400-2,500 crore. Agrani is also looking to apply for an additional ₹120-130 crore under the government-backed Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) scheme.
Founded by former Intel and AMD executives, Agrani Labs is developing AI chips designed for data-centre inference, alongside the software infrastructure required to support them. Earlier reports indicated that the company is targeting compatibility with NVIDIA’s CUDA ecosystem.
The reported fundraising highlights growing interest in India’s domestic semiconductor ecosystem, particularly infrastructure powering AI workloads.
However, the proposed funding remains under negotiation and has not been confirmed as a completed round. Agrani’s progress will depend on its ability to translate capital into competitive hardware and software capabilities.
