Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), through its marine platform Astro Offshore, has partnered with Oceaneering International Inc. to strengthen its capabilities in specialised offshore and subsea operations across Europe. The strategic collaboration marks a major milestone in APSEZ’s international expansion and entry into the high-value ultra-deepwater infrastructure segment.
As part of the expansion, Astro Offshore has inducted its first ultra-deepwater vessel, Energy Savannah, which will be renamed Astro Atlas. The advanced 97-metre DP2 multipurpose support vessel is equipped for subsea construction, cable laying and pipeline installation in water depths exceeding 3,000 metres.
APSEZ CEO Ashwani Gupta said the partnership combines Astro Offshore’s growing high-spec fleet with Oceaneering’s deepwater engineering expertise to deliver complex offshore solutions globally.
The move aligns with APSEZ’s long-term marine strategy, targeting a 200-vessel fleet by FY31, marine revenue of ₹6,000 crore and planned capital expenditure of ₹13,000 crore to strengthen its global offshore and marine infrastructure presence.
