boAt Achieves ₹60 Crore Net Profit in FY25, Eyes Global Expansion Startup Stories

Gurugram-based consumer electronics brand boAt has reported a significant turnaround in FY25, posting a net profit of ₹60 crore after a period of losses. While total revenues slightly declined from ₹3,117 crore in FY24 to ~₹3,073 crore, the company’s focus on cost discipline, strategic execution, and operational efficiency drove a remarkable recovery.

Audio products, boAt’s core segment, grew by ~5%, reinforcing the brand’s strong position in India’s consumer electronics market. In contrast, wearables declined by ~40%, highlighting the need for innovation and constant adaptation in emerging product categories. The company achieved a ~6% reduction in overall expenses through optimized inventory management and procurement practices, while measured increases in advertising (~7%) and employee costs (~3%) demonstrated disciplined investment.

boAt’s international business emerged as a key growth driver, expanding 44% year-on-year from a smaller base, signaling the brand’s global ambitions. With SEBI’s approval of its confidential DRHP and plans to raise approximately ₹2,000 crore via IPO, the company is preparing for its next phase of strategic growth.

boAt’s FY25 performance underscores a key lesson for consumer brands: profitable growth is driven by sharp execution, leveraging core strengths, and disciplined investment. The company’s resurgence reflects both operational resilience and the capacity to scale for global markets.
