Sysco LABS Sri Lanka, the innovation and technology arm of Sysco, has announced the appointment of Thushera Kawdawatta as Managing Director. In his new role, Thushera will lead the company into its next phase of growth, further strengthening its position as Sysco’s largest Global Innovation Center and a hub for digital transformation in the global foodservice industry.

With nearly three decades of global technology leadership, Thushera has held several senior roles across industries. He previously served as CEO of Axiata Digital Labs, driving large-scale digital transformation and innovation. His career also includes leadership positions at COHEAD Therapeutics and Sampath Bank, along with a distinguished 19-year tenure at Virtusa, where he shaped global operations and digital strategy.

At Sysco LABS, Thushera’s vision centers on harnessing Sri Lankan ingenuity and investing in talent development, positioning the company as a global leader in innovation. His expertise in digital strategy and operations will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of foodservice technology.
