Industry Stalwart Rajesh Krishnan Appointed as Managing Director of Samsung Semiconductor India Research Leadership

Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) has appointed Rajesh Krishnan as its new Managing Director, marking a significant step in strengthening India’s role in Samsung’s global innovation roadmap.

With over three decades of leadership experience across India and the US, Rajesh has built a distinguished career in advancing semiconductor technologies, business transformation, and global operations. He has been instrumental in shaping strategies, building high-performance teams, and driving growth across the global semiconductor ecosystem.

Most recently, Rajesh led the Memory Division at SSIR, where he spearheaded the development of next-generation storage and memory solutions. His expertise spans computer architecture, compiler design, telecommunication systems, and satellite technologies, alongside deep proficiency in flash storage, embedded systems, servers, automotive domains, and DDR/HBM memory driving AI innovations.

Rajesh succeeds Balajee Sowrirajan, who played a pivotal role in SSIR’s growth. His appointment reinforces Samsung’s commitment to building strong strategic partnerships, accelerating innovation, and contributing to the evolving global semiconductor landscape.
