YES BANK has announced the reappointment of Prashant Kumar as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), effective from October 6, 2025, until April 5, 2026. The reappointment was approved by shareholders during the bank’s 21st Annual General Meeting.

Kumar has been steering YES BANK since March 2020, when he took charge during its critical reconstruction phase. Under his leadership, the bank successfully transitioned from a period of crisis to stability, becoming one of the most notable turnaround stories in the Indian banking sector. He was earlier reappointed in October 2022 for a three-year term, reflecting the trust in his leadership.

Before joining YES BANK, Kumar built an illustrious 34-year career at State Bank of India (SBI), where he last served as Deputy Managing Director and CFO. Over the years, he has held leadership roles across credit, HR, operations, and strategic functions nationwide. Kumar began his journey with SBI as a Probationary Officer in 1983, and holds degrees in Science and Law from Delhi University.
