Germany-based industrial automation leader Festo has officially inaugurated a cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with an investment of ₹500 crore. The new facility, which spans over 75 acres of developed industrial land, will manufacture advanced pneumatic automation components to cater to both domestic and global markets.
In its initial phase, the plant is expected to generate over 1,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, with further expansion planned in the coming years. This milestone aligns with Festo’s centennial celebration and reinforces its long-term commitment to India.
“We are immensely proud to celebrate 100 years of Festo by reinforcing our commitment to India through this new facility,” said Thomas Böck, Chairman of the Management Board at Festo. “This plant strengthens our local manufacturing capabilities and reflects our vision of sustainable growth and technological leadership for the next 100 years.”
Festo continues to expand its global R&D, production, logistics, and supply chain hubs, with a strong focus on regionalisation and sustainability. The company’s “local for local” strategy aims to shorten transport routes, enhance resilience, and reduce emissions.
At the Global Investors Meet 2024, Festo had committed to setting up this greenfield facility in Krishnagiri district, pledging an investment of ₹520 crore and the creation of over 2,000 jobs.
