E-commerce platforms are increasingly becoming the employers of choice for young professionals in Delhi-NCR, according to a recent report by Empower India and LocalCircles. The study, based on feedback from 90,000 workers across 15 districts, reveals that youth are drawn to online platforms for better pay, structured training opportunities, and workplace dignity.

Leading players such as Amazon, Flipkart, Delhivery, and Meesho have emerged as preferred destinations for job seekers, offering formal roles, upskilling programs, and inclusive workplace policies. Unlike high-pressure quick-commerce jobs, these companies are providing career pathways that combine stability with long-term growth prospects.

The report further noted that more than 50% of gig workers in the region have experienced an increase in disposable income through part-time and seasonal roles offered by e-commerce platforms. This marks a significant shift in employment patterns, as retail and logistics giants reshape the labor market.

By creating sustainable job opportunities, fostering skill development, and ensuring fair workplace practices, e-commerce platforms are not only driving growth in India’s digital economy but also empowering the next generation of workers.
