LeafyBus, a Delhi-based intercity electric bus startup, has secured $4.1 million in pre-Series A funding from Enetra EV, a financing platform backed by Singapore’s Impact Capital Asset Management (ICAM). The funding will be used to expand LeafyBus’s fleet and extend its services to new intercity routes, strengthening its presence in India’s growing electric mobility sector.
Founded in 2023 by Rohan Dewan and Animesh Sharma, LeafyBus currently operates electric buses on the Delhi–Dehradun and Delhi–Agra routes. The startup plans to add 100 buses over the next two years and expand into cities such as Chandigarh and Jaipur, covering a 300-kilometer radius from Delhi. It distinguishes itself as the only long-distance bus operator using a 360 kW fast-charging station, combining efficiency with sustainability.
LeafyBus follows a hybrid ownership model, retaining 20–25% of its fleet while leasing the remainder. Its vehicles come from manufacturers including JBM and Azad India Mobility, with ongoing discussions with Tata and Eicher for additional supply. The startup projects revenue of Rs 75–80 crore by FY26.
Operating in a competitive market alongside NueGo, Fresh Bus, Zingbus, Yolobus, and FlixBus, LeafyBus’s electric-first approach offers quieter, cleaner, and more cost-efficient travel. With India’s EV market projected to grow from $23.38 billion in 2024 to $117.78 billion by 2032, LeafyBus is poised to play a key role in advancing the country’s net-zero emissions goals.
