Cargill Appoints Industry Stalwart Ravinder Balain as Country President for India Leadership

Cargill, the global food and agribusiness giant, has appointed Ravinder Balain as Country President for India, a role that will see him spearheading the company’s growth and strategic direction in one of its most critical markets.

In his new position, Balain will be responsible for strengthening strategic partnerships, driving market expansion, and enhancing stakeholder and government engagement. He will also focus on ensuring business continuity while advising Cargill’s global executive team on India’s rapidly evolving business landscape.

With more than 33 years of leadership experience, Balain brings deep expertise in agribusiness and allied industries. He previously served as Managing Director for South and Southeast Asia at Corteva Agriscience (formerly DuPont), where he played a key role in talent development and market creation. Most recently, he led AAK India, South Asia & Sub-Saharan Africa, transforming the business into a fully owned entity. He has also held senior executive roles at DuPont and Huntsman Singapore.
