Livestock management in India’s rural heartlands is often hindered by limited access to veterinary advice and market connectivity. Bengaluru-based Pashushala.com is changing that by offering farmers instant, AI-powered support in 13 Indian languages, helping millions better manage cattle care and livestock needs.
Founded in 2018 by Gaurav Choudhary an IIM Ranchi alumnus and former management consultant, Pashushala has grown into a full-stack livestock platform. It offers access to quality livestock, tools, insurance, veterinary services, and B2C/B2B/B2G market integrations. To date, the platform has onboarded over 10 lakh farmers, 30,000 veterinarians, and operates in 15 states.
The platform’s breakthrough is PashuGPT, a voice-enabled AI assistant trained on three years of proprietary data, offering real-time help on cattle health and care. Other innovations include a free ration calculator and financial tools to connect farmers with banks like SBI and PNB.
Pashushala operates on a dual revenue model via vendor subscriptions and transaction fees, while offering farmers limited free use. Bootstrapped initially, it has raised Rs 1 crore through institutional support and is now preparing for external funding.
By addressing trust, logistics, and language gaps, Pashushala is redefining India’s Rs 4.2 lakh crore livestock sector through digitization and farmer-first innovation.
