Global IT and consulting leader Accenture has expanded its collaboration with Nvidia to extend its AI Refinery platform to Europe’s public sector, addressing growing concerns over data sovereignty and the slow pace of scalable AI adoption.
Built on Nvidia AI Foundry, Enterprise, and Omniverse, the AI Refinery platform transforms raw AI potential into real-world solutions. Despite AI’s promise, only 36% of organizations have scaled even one generative AI solution, with just 9% achieving full deployment, according to Accenture.
This move marks a shift as governments, less constrained by short-term ROI, look to embed AI into public services and infrastructure. The new sovereign and agentic capabilities of AI Refinery will enable localized deployment with tailored models, hosted within national jurisdictions and designed to meet regulatory and cultural needs.
Accenture’s Mauro Macchi emphasizes this as a critical leap for European competitiveness, especially across energy, telecom, and defense. Nvidia’s Justin Boitano added that the collaboration supports nations in preserving data integrity and cultural identity while embracing AI-driven transformation.
As Europe targets up to 30% of the global Sovereign AI market by 2030, this partnership positions Accenture and Nvidia at the forefront of AI’s public sector evolution.
