Microsoft and FluxGen Halve Water Use in Bengaluru Hospitals

Microsoft and Indian startup FluxGen have developed a software solution that reduces water usage by 50% and detects leaks and wastage. This initiative is crucial as India faces severe water crises. In pilot projects, they successfully implemented this technology at St. Martha's Hospital and a multi-speciality hospital in Whitefield, Bengaluru.

Leveraging advanced sensor fusion, artificial intelligence, and IoT technologies, the project identifies and mitigates water leaks and wastage. A FluxGen spokesperson highlighted the potential for national scalability to address India’s water issues. By 2030, India's water demand is expected to double, making such innovations vital.

FluxGen CEO Ganesh Shankar emphasized the technology's capability to cut water consumption by 50% in hospitals and industrial units, offering a sustainable solution to the country's growing water challenges.
