Dhruva Space Granted IN-SPACe Approval for Ground Station as a Service

Dhruva Space, headquartered in Hyderabad, has achieved a significant milestone with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) granting authorization for its Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS). CEO Sanjay Nekkanti received the authorization letter from IN-SPACe chairman Pawan Goenka in Ahmedabad, marking Dhruva Space’s capability to commercially support a variety of space missions.

The GSaaS initiative aims to democratize access to satellite data for Indian private companies, facilitating cost-effective satellite communication and accelerating internal research and development efforts. Dhruva Space has already developed several ground stations across different frequency bands and established strategic partnerships, including an S&X band station at IIT-Hyderabad.

This authorization enables Dhruva Space to provide critical ground support services, enhancing real-time satellite communication capabilities and fostering innovation within India’s burgeoning space startup ecosystem. The company’s recent funding infusion of $9.4 million underscores its commitment to advancing space technology and expanding its capabilities in small satellite systems.
